When the temperature of the front section of the heating side is as high as 600 degrees, the temperature of the cooling side cylinder can still maintain a temperature of about 50 degrees after 20 minutes of continuous operation. This will produce a temperature of 500 degrees. The above temperature difference is also the source of sufficient and continuous power output.
This engine uses 20MM power cylinders and 20MM stainless steel heating pipes on both sides. The heating pipe on the heating cylinder side is obviously longer than the cooling side. This is to design a better compression ratio.
The two sets of cylinder connecting rods are not directly connected, but are connected through two sets of gear systems. The gear ratio is designed to be 2:1. The crankshaft speed reaches 1000r/min. After processing on the CNC lathe, it is quenched to increase the hardness to 58-62HRC, and then ground to achieve a precision of plus or minus. Around 0.005MM, while the piston is reciprocating in the cylinder, it also needs to seal the gas in the cylinder as much as possible. This is a key part that reflects Stirling’s precision.
